I provide caring, confidential, professional, skilled counselling and psychotherapy to adults. I aim to work with you in a collaborative way, taking your preferences into account and discussing what may be involved.
Counselling and psychotherapy offer a way to make sense of your experiences, alleviate distress and promote a greater sense of wellbeing. Counselling tends to be shorter term and focused on the here and now. Psychotherapy tends to take longer and looks at the underlying causes of current difficulties with the aim of achieving more lasting change.
The length of time it might take for psychological treatment to work can vary considerably between people. Some people can get benefit after just a few appointments while others take longer.
