COVID-19 UPDATE:
Medicare rebated psychology services are now available via phone and video consults (telehealth).
TAC, WorkSafe and DVA are providing telehealth services for eligible patients.
Private health funds are offering to cover some telepsychology appointments.

PSYCHOLOGICAL TREATMENT

The fee is $190.00 for a standard 50-60 minute consultation.
If you have a GP referral, a 50-60 minute consultation will attract a Medicare rebate of $128.40.
With a GP referral, there is an out of pocket cost of $61.60.
These fees are substantially less than the recommended fee by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) which is set at $260.00 per 46-60 minute consultation.
Concession rates are available for students and health care card holders.
This practice does not offer bulk billing.

PSYCHO-LEGAL REPORTS

Fees for Expert Reports are commensurate with fees set by Victoria Legal Aid.

PAYMENT

Payment is at the time of the appointment and can be made by EFTPOS, credit card, cheque or cash.
Cancellation fees apply to late cancellations and missed appointments (this is an out-of-pocket cost and the cancellation fee is not rebateable).

Do I need a referral?

No. You don't need a referral to see a psychologist.
If you want to claim a rebate under Medicare speak to your GP about a referral (see below).

Can I get a rebate?

I am a registered provider with Medicare, TAC, Veterans Affairs and most private health insurance companies.  If you are eligible for any of these programs, you may be entitled to a rebate.
Medicare
Medicare’s ‘Better Access’ program is a federally funded initiative that offers rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
Your GP will determine if you are eligible. If eligible, your GP can provide you with a referral letter and complete a Mental Health Care Plan, that will entitle you to the Medicare rebate. Information about the Better Access program can be found on the Medicare website.

Transport Accident Comission (TAC)
The TAC provides funding for eligible clients. See the TAC website for more information.

WorkCover
Work Cover Victoria provides funding for eligibile clients. See the WorkCover website for more information.

Veterans Affairs
The Department of Veterans' Affairs provides funding for service and ex-service personnel.

The Veterans' At Ease website encourages existing and ex-service Australian Defence Force personnel and their family members to recognise the symptoms of poor mental health, take action early, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Private Health Insurance
Many private health funds provide rebateable psychological services. Each health fund offers different levels of cover. You will need to check with your health fund about whether they include psychology services and what your cover entitles you to.
